General Manager – Cottonseed Processing

About the role

The General Manager will lead the end‑to‑end operation of a cottonseed processing facility, overseeing seed preparation, crushing, solvent extraction, refining, utilities, maintenance, quality, safety and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cottonseed oil mill operations, meeting production targets while improving yield, recovery, quality and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement, process optimisation, automation and plant upgrades to maximise oil recovery and energy efficiency.
• Own the mill P&L, enhance profitability through cost control, waste reduction and capacity optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, HSE and regulatory standards and foster a strong safety culture.
• Lead and develop production, maintenance, quality and utility teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• 15+ years in edible oils, oilseed crushing, solvent extraction or agri‑processing.
• Proven leadership of large manufacturing teams and track record of operational turn‑around.
• Experience in Africa or other emerging markets is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, production engineering, food technology or related field; MBA or Master’s preferred.
