Senior Geologist - Gold Mining Project (Alluvial & Hard Rock)

About the role

The client, an international mining company, is developing a greenfield gold project in northern Chad. This senior geologist role will support the project from exploration through to production, working in both alluvial and hard‑rock environments on a FIFO, camp‑based schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping, sampling, core logging and field investigations.
• Lead geological interpretation, resource evaluation and geological modelling activities.
• Support resource estimation, reserve modelling and grade‑control procedures for ore and waste delineation.
• Coordinate with mine planning, engineering and production teams to integrate geological data.
• Maintain geological databases, logging systems and technical records.
• Prepare technical reports and updates for management.
• Identify near‑mine exploration targets and mentor junior geologists.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc (or equivalent) in Geology, Geosciences or Earth Sciences.
• Minimum 15 years of geological experience in gold mining, covering both alluvial and hard‑rock deposits.
• Proven experience in resource evaluation, geological modelling, grade control, mine geology and exploration geology.
• Strong leadership, team‑management and safety‑culture capabilities.
• Experience on greenfield mining projects and willingness to relocate internationally.
