Excel Specialist – Remote Data Operations

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Excel Specialist to become the backbone of our data operations. Working remotely, you will collaborate with finance, marketing and operations teams across Africa to transform raw data into actionable business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Develop and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and reporting.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from CRMs, ERPs and cloud databases using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Create dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors and ensure 100% data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into visual formats and train remote cross‑functional teams on using the tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modelling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines across African time zones.

Required skills

• Expert‑level Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query).
• Strong VBA and macro development experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and SQL databases.
• Excellent problem‑solving, attention to detail and communication skills.
