Country Programme Coordinator

About the role

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is seeking a Country Programme Coordinator to lead programme coordination in N'Djamena, Chad. The incumbent will ensure the effective design, implementation and monitoring of IFAD’s country‑level activities, working closely with senior staff and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the implementation of IFAD programmes and projects in Chad.
• Supervise a Country Programme Assistant (G‑5) and ensure alignment with division priorities.
• Manage programme budgets, resource allocation and reporting at the divisional level.
• Advocate IFAD’s vision with governments, NGOs, private sector and other stakeholders.
• Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to produce actionable insights for policy and operational decisions.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in rural development, agriculture, economics, rural finance, development policy or related field (or two years of experience in lieu of a degree).
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in programme design, supervision and loan/grant administration with international financial institutions or development agencies.
• Fluent in English and French (excellent); knowledge of Spanish or Arabic is desirable.
