Dataset Curator – AI & ML Data Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Dataset Curator to design, maintain, and optimise high‑quality datasets that power AI, Machine Learning and Large Language Model projects. You will work closely with data scientists, AI trainers and engineers to ensure the data used for model training is accurate, diverse and bias‑free.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, curate and structure datasets for AI/ML training and evaluation.
• Validate dataset accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Annotate and label data according to project‑specific guidelines.
• Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, duplicates and anomalies.
• Maintain comprehensive metadata and documentation for each dataset.
• Collaborate with AI trainers and data engineers to define dataset requirements.
• Ensure ethical sourcing and bias mitigation throughout the data lifecycle.
• Continuously monitor dataset quality and propose improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of proven experience in dataset curation, data analysis or data management.
• Experience handling large‑scale datasets for AI, ML or analytics projects.
• Awareness of AI dataset ethics and bias mitigation techniques.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
• SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Python for dataset handling and automation.
• Data cleaning, normalization and transformation techniques.
• Familiarity with data annotation tools and platforms.
• Database management and version control systems.
