Driver – UN Resident Coordinator Office

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Chad is seeking a reliable Driver to support the transport of staff, cargo and official documents. The role ensures safe vehicle operation, timely deliveries and compliance with customs and security procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Drive vehicles safely for authorized personnel, cargo and, when required, hazardous goods.
• Deliver parcels, documents and other items between UN offices, ministries, embassies and permanent missions.
• Collect urgent purchases from local suppliers and handle customs clearance and payment for goods.
• Receive officials at the airport and assist with immigration and customs formalities.
• Maintain assigned vehicles – check oil, water, battery, brakes, perform minor repairs and keep the vehicle clean.
• Log trips, mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance activities.
• Follow UN rules and regulations in case of accidents and report accordingly.

Required profile

• Valid driving licence and thorough knowledge of local traffic rules and road conditions.
• Familiarity with security and safety protocols in Chad.
• Ability to interact professionally with senior officials, visitors and local partners.
• Attention to detail in vehicle maintenance and documentation.

Required skills
