Educational Support Teacher – English L2 (M/F)

About the role

The European Schools are seeking an Educational Support Teacher to work with primary‑cycle pupils who require additional support in English as a second language. The role involves delivering differentiated instruction, assessing learning needs, and collaborating with classroom teachers and external specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored English L2 instruction to pupils with learning, emotional, behavioural or physical needs.
• Conduct detailed observations and assessments to identify support requirements.
• Develop individual or group Learning Plans in cooperation with class teachers.
• Liaise with the Support Coordinator and other professionals to ensure cohesive support.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate updates to parents.
• Participate in meetings, trainings and collaborative planning sessions.

Required profile

• Native English speaker or C1/C2 level certified English proficiency.
• University degree recognised for teaching in the primary cycle.
• Qualification and experience in educational support, inclusive or special education.
• European citizenship or a valid work permit for Belgium.
• Knowledge of a second school language (French or German) is an advantage.
