Grid Expert – Chad

About the role

The Grid Expert will support the implementation of Chad’s national Energy Compact, focusing on the integration of new renewable generation, transmission system strengthening, and infrastructure planning. Reporting to the CDMU Lead, the role ensures system stability, technical feasibility of generation projects, and alignment of network development with compact targets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate network and infrastructure planning studies and develop a comprehensive least‑cost electricity development plan.
• Conduct feasibility studies, preliminary designs, and detailed electrical network simulations, modelling, dimensioning, and stability analyses.
• Support implementation of network reinforcement projects, monitor execution, and perform technical assessments and audits, including Factory Acceptance Testing.
• Prepare technical specifications for tender documents and assist in the evaluation of technical bids.
• Establish monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for network infrastructure development and provide technical input to the High‑Level Committee and progress reports.

Required profile

• Electrical Engineer with specialization in network modelling and calculations.
• Experience on at least three power‑plant integration projects of 50 MWp or more connected to high‑voltage networks.
• Proven track record in feasibility studies, preliminary design, and tender documentation for high‑voltage projects.
