Miljøterapeut – full-time permanent position

About the role

This is a permanent, full‑time position as an environmental therapist working in a residential unit for adults with intellectual disabilities and complex support needs. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team that provides 24‑hour care on a rotating shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized support and assistance in line with care plans, goals and user needs.
• Conduct targeted environmental interventions to promote independence, mastery and quality of life.
• Handle medication according to established routines and safety guidelines.
• Document and evaluate activities in an electronic health record.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Health and Care Services Act (chapter 9).
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, relatives and other partners.
• Contribute to professional development, service quality and a positive work environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, nursing, special education or a related field; other relevant higher education in environmental therapy may be considered.
• Fluent Norwegian, both spoken and written.
• Experience working with challenging behaviour.
• Strong collaborative attitude, supportive and inclusive approach.
• Valid police clearance and a class B driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic health‑record systems.
• Medication administration competence.
• Possession of a class B driving licence.
