Programme Policy Officer – Protection, AAP & PSEA, N'Djamena

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is recruiting a Programme Policy Officer for its country office in N'Djamena, Chad, based at the country office. The post reports directly to the Head of Gender, Protection and Inclusion and contributes to WFP's priorities on protection, accountability to affected populations (AAP) and prevention of exploitation and abuse of children (PEAS). The deadline for applications is 30 October 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to protection analysis, VBG security audits and risk assessments, and support mitigation measures
• Support field offices in identifying, tracking and documenting protection risks, and provide technical support for VBG audits and risk mapping exercises
• Help map available protection services and strengthen referral mechanisms, and integrate protection, VBG, PSEA and AAP into food security, nutrition, resilience and cash transfer activities
• Disseminate protection tools and guidelines, and strengthen capacity of staff and partners on protection, VBG, PSEA and risk management
• Implement PSEA activities according to the country office action plan and run community sensitisation on beneficiaries' rights and reporting mechanisms
• Hold regular community consultations, track feedback and complaints, and promote the participation of vulnerable groups
• Provide technical support to field focal points, carry out regular field visits, and contribute to reports, dashboards and action plans

Required profile

• At least one year of relevant experience in protection, humanitarian action, food security, nutrition or development, with a master's degree and three years with a bachelor's degree
• Experience integrating protection, AAP, gender, inclusion and/or PSEA
