Senior Program Manager

About the role

The Senior Program Manager provides strategic leadership and management support to the operations team, ensuring that programmes are delivered to the highest standards and meet donor, community and partner expectations. This role drives the development and implementation of initiatives that improve the well‑being of vulnerable children across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, review and monitoring of national strategies, organisational directions and programme guidance.
• Oversee annual programme and budget planning, aligning resources with strategic priorities and partnership objectives.
• Identify and develop new programmes, including area selection, needs assessments, concept paper writing and donor negotiations.
• Ensure all programmes implement national strategies and technical standards effectively.
• Manage resource acquisition, grant growth and special project development to expand the programme portfolio.
• Provide leadership on budgeting processes, ensuring efficient use of operational and programme funds.
• Build capacity of direct reports through coaching, supervision and spiritual formation.
• Represent the organisation to donors, partners, ministries and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior programme or project management within humanitarian, development or nonprofit settings.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills, with a track record of building high‑performing teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and complex donor relationships.
• Experience in strategic planning, programme design and monitoring and evaluation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
