Technical Support for National Nutrition Survey (SMART) – Chad

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced consultant to lead the technical implementation of a national nutrition and retrospective mortality survey across 23 provinces in Chad. The assignment lasts three months and is office‑based, focusing on ensuring high‑quality data collection using the SMART methodology.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise a province‑representative nutrition survey.
• Apply the SMART methodology rigorously to guarantee data quality.
• Draft comprehensive reports covering all phases, from inception to final results.
• Present the survey protocol to a technical steering committee comprising UNICEF, WFP, partner NGOs and government stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with the Nutrition Specialist, Nutrition Information Management Specialist and Section Chief.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in social sciences, public health, nutrition, epidemiology, statistics or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience managing national nutrition surveys using SMART.
• Proven experience in coverage surveys for nutrition programs.
• Fluency in French.
