Language Interpreter Specialist (English & Local Languages)

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Language Interpreter Specialist to join our dynamic team in N'Djamena, Chad. You will enable smooth communication between English‑speaking and local language participants across business meetings, conferences and negotiations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for conferences, meetings and business negotiations in Chad and surrounding regions.
• Accurately convey spoken messages between English and the relevant local language while preserving tone and intent.
• Research subject‑matter terminology and cultural nuances to prepare for each assignment.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information encountered.
• Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure seamless communication flow.
• Adapt quickly to various accents, dialects and speaking styles.
• Deliver written translations of documents when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, translation studies or a related field.
• Professional certification in interpretation (preferred).
• Proven experience as an interpreter in business settings, especially in Central Africa.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the second language.
• Strong listening, comprehension and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
