Protection Program Manager

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Protection Program Manager to lead its protection sector activities in Iriba, Chad. Reporting to the Area Manager and under the technical supervision of the Protection Coordinator in N'Djamena, you will oversee the full project cycle and ensure the delivery of high‑quality protection services to displaced populations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of protection projects, ensuring compliance with DRC policies, Minimum Operating Procedures and quality standards.
• Provide direct supervision and performance management for protection staff at the area level.
• Lead internal and external coordination, representing DRC in meetings with partners, authorities and communities.
• Oversee budget planning, monitoring and reporting as the designated budget holder.
• Deliver technical advice and support to staff, ensuring adherence to strategic protection goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing protection programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Strong people‑management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated ability to work in conflict‑affected environments and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of DRC’s protection standards, policies and operating procedures.
