Project Director – Child Survival Programme (Chad)

About the role

Nutrition International is seeking a senior leader to head its Child Survival Programme in Chad. The Project Director will be the organisation’s principal representative, overseeing programme delivery, government partnerships and a small in‑country team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead biannual vitamin A supplementation campaigns, post‑event coverage surveys and use data to drive corrective actions.
• Plan, cost and build government ownership for the 2027 diarrhoea treatment component (zinc and low‑osmolarity ORS).
• Manage programme budget, donor reporting and ensure compliance with local legal, financial and security requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with ministries, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and private‑sector partners.
• Oversee performance of partners and sub‑contractors, negotiating corrective actions and assessing value for money.
• Lead a team of three Senior Programme Officers and one Project Officer, setting clear roles and performance expectations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, international development, management or related field.
• At least 10 years of programme or project management experience in public health, nutrition or international development.
• Professional fluency in English and French; knowledge of Chad’s health system and at least one year of in‑country exposure.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate with government and manage complex budgets and diverse teams.
• Commitment to safeguarding and organisational codes of conduct.
