Head of Finance – Aviation

About the role

Maersk Air Cargo is seeking a senior finance leader to shape the financial strategy of its aviation business. Reporting to the Air Cargo leadership team, you will drive insight, discipline and long‑term value creation across a highly regulated, asset‑intensive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation, cost control and financial risk management for Maersk Air Cargo.
• Partner with senior leaders on performance management, investment decisions and financial trade‑offs.
• Provide transparency on EBIT, cost‑to‑serve, working capital, asset utilisation and ROI.
• Maintain forward‑looking financial views of fleet, engines and major assets, including lease and end‑of‑life planning.
• Oversee financial planning for maintenance events, asset investments and pricing models for ACMI and charter activity.
• Ensure strong financial controls, statutory reporting, audit readiness and compliance with aviation‑specific regulations (e.g., ETS, CORSIA, SAF).
• Manage risk, insurance and legal exposure in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead and develop an engaged finance organisation, building credibility through clear communication and decisive leadership.

Required profile

• Proven finance leader from the aviation, airline or air cargo industry.
• Experience in regulated, asset‑heavy environments with long‑term investment horizons.
• Comfortable operating in complex, senior‑stakeholder settings.
• Commercially minded, structured, resilient with a strong leadership presence.
