Project Associate – Protection & MHPSS

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Associate to support protection and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) activities in Ouaddaï province, Chad. Working under the Protection Officer and the Senior Project Associate, the incumbent will help implement community‑based protection, individual assistance, and capacity‑building initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementing and monitoring protection activities, including field assessments and community sensitisation.
• Collect, compile, analyse and present data on protection needs and project outcomes.
• Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables and presentations.
• Coordinate with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other stakeholders.
• Monitor implementing partners, report non‑compliances and provide guidance to junior staff.
• Organise meetings, workshops and training sessions as required.

Required profile

• School diploma with five years of relevant experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields with three years of relevant experience.
• Experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Background working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, trafficking victims or other vulnerable groups.
