Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a senior resource within Plan International Chad, responsible for supporting emergency response activities and developing a funding strategy aligned with the Emergency Response Plan. The role focuses on securing resources for the cross‑border response to the Sudan crisis and supporting host communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups, including donors, NGOs, and national organisations.
• Lead the planning and implementation of all funding activities for the emergency response.
• Coordinate the preparation of comprehensive donor proposals, ensuring gender and diversity considerations.
• Work with the finance manager to develop programme budgets and ensure financial sustainability.
• Monitor donor strategies and interests, and identify systemic issues that may hinder funding growth.
• Potentially line‑manage funding or grants finance specialists and deploy to programme locations on short notice.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in humanitarian fundraising and donor relations.
• Strong understanding of donor priorities, emergency response planning, and gender‑focused programming.
• Proven ability to coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams across programme, finance, MEAL, HR, and logistics.
• Willingness to travel and deploy rapidly to field locations.
