Operations Coordinator – Import & Export Logistics

About the role

The Operations Coordinator supports UPS import and export activities at the N'Djamena hub, ensuring customs compliance, accurate documentation, and timely shipment processing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and process customs import manifests for N'Djamena, Chad, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Process shipment arrivals in the UPS system, update government hold exceptions, and coordinate with customs brokers for clearance.
• Facilitate trucking of MAWBs between N'Djamena Airport and the office, and maintain the customs tracker in Excel.
• Generate receipts for cleared shipments, including duties, fees, and brokerage charges in local currency.
• Create jobs in Intrack, report import duty and tax collections, and distribute documentation to drivers.
• Prepare damage inspection reports with photographic evidence and escalate issues to the Operations Manager.
• Perform inbound scans in UPS Tundra, update exception notifications, and ensure drivers scan in UPS Global Pickup & Delivery.
• Monitor open import exception notifications and close them within 10 days.
• Submit weekly petty cash reports and free domicile receipts to the local finance team.
• Address customer complaints related to import operations and create import control labels in WorldShip.
• Create export labels for walk‑in customers in WorldShip, collect freight charges, and verify government‑issued ID.

Required profile

• Prior experience in import and export logistics, preferably within a customs environment.
• Familiarity with customs procedures and documentation in Chad.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple Excel trackers.
• Capability to work with UPS internal systems and coordinate with brokers and drivers.
