Protection Coordinator – Chad

About the role

The Protection Coordinator will report to the Head of Programme and work closely with the HUB WANALA Protection Coordinator. Based in Ndjamena, the role supports the development and implementation of DRC’s protection strategy across the operational areas of Adré and Iriba.

Key responsibilities

• Lead DRC’s protection representation in national and area‑level clusters, working groups and with donors, NGOs and government stakeholders.
• Develop and roll out technical protection strategies, concept notes, logical frameworks and budgets, ensuring evidence‑based programming.
• Provide technical input to project reports, supervise protection monitoring, and ensure compliance with DRC protection principles and minimum standards.
• Identify funding opportunities, produce advocacy materials and promote DRC’s protection programmes to secure resources.
• Conduct capacity‑building assessments, training needs analyses and support partners to strengthen protection capacity.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic humanitarian context.
• Initiative, innovation and a practical, operational mindset to ensure relevance and quality of protection programming.
• Motivation to launch and shape a new protection operation in Chad.
