About the role

ABB Robotics is seeking a Global Technology Owner for Power Electronics to lead the evolution of electrical powertrain technologies across its industrial and mobile robot platforms. This senior technical leadership position works within the Global R&D Platform team, collaborating with specialists worldwide to define technology direction, system architecture, and development roadmaps.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the evolution of electrical powertrain technologies for ABB Robotics mechatronics platforms, aligning with product and platform roadmaps.
• Shape technology and product strategy, including research direction, system architecture, and intellectual property management.
• Lead the development of technical standards that enable scalable, high‑performance solutions.
• Act as a senior technical reference for engineering teams, customers, and business management, supporting complex problem solving and cross‑functional collaboration.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in mechatronics development, servo drive, and motor control technologies.
• PhD in a relevant field or equivalent experience in industrial research and development.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, actionable insights.
