Metallurgical Engineer

About the role

Monterra Minerals SARL is seeking a full‑time Metallurgical Engineer to join its on‑site team in Chad. The role focuses on overseeing metallurgical processes, conducting materials testing, and developing extraction and refining methods while ensuring safety and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and optimise metallurgical processes for antimony, gold and tungsten production.
• Conduct materials testing and develop new methods for ore extraction and refining.
• Perform failure analyses and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
• Lead corrosion‑prevention initiatives and evaluate existing processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• Professional experience in mining or the minerals industry.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience with data gathering and interpretation.
• Knowledge of international safety and environmental standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a demanding on‑site environment.
