National Director – Humanitarian Programs

About the role

The National Director leads World Vision’s national office in Chad, overseeing strategy, program delivery and overall performance. Reporting to World Vision International, the role ensures that all sponsorship, PNS and humanitarian response initiatives align with the Government of Chad’s priorities and the organization’s mission to improve child well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement national strategies, translating them into effective programs and measurable results.
• Build and manage a high‑performing leadership team, fostering internal coordination and accountability.
• Maintain strong relationships with government authorities, donors, partners and World Vision support offices to secure sustainable funding.
• Lead resource development activities, including fundraising, donor engagement and management of locally restricted awards.
• Represent World Vision Chad within the global partnership, promoting twin citizenship and organizational learning.
• Ensure operational efficiency, stewardship of resources and focus on child well‑being outcomes.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in humanitarian or development NGOs, preferably in a country leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and manage complex programs.
• Strong track record in fundraising, donor relations and partnership building.
• Deep understanding of Chad’s socio‑political context and alignment with Christian values.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and strategic thinking skills.
